The basic equine anatomy, kinesiology and palpation skills that students learn in this class give them insight into how their horse is feeling in it’s body. In this course, students learn functional anatomy and how the horse is designed to move. Students learn how many training practices and types of equipment prevent the horse from moving naturally and contribute to the creation of muscular and behavioral problems. Students learn how to evaluate whether a horse’s muscles are healthy or painful. Students learn how to use equine massage techniques to relieve painful muscles. Students learn a new way to communicate directly with the horse via touch and the medium of horse massage.
